இஸ்திகாரா துஆவின் அர்த்தம்.

 

“யா அல்லாஹ்! நான் உன்னிடம் உனது ஞானத்தைக் கொண்டு நன்மையை கேட்கின்றேன்; மேலும் உனது ஆற்றலைக் கொண்டு ஆற்றலை கேட்கிறேன்;

மேலும் உன்னிடமிருந்து உனது மகத்தான அருளை கேட்கிறேன்; ஏனெனில் நீ ஆற்றல் பெற்றவன்; 

என்னிடம் எந்த ஆற்றலும் இல்லை. மேலும் நீ நன்கு அறிபவன். நான் எதனையும் அறியமாட்டேன்.

மேலும் நீயே மறைவானவை அனைத்தும் அறிந்தவன்! யாஅல்லாஹ்! இந்த விஷயம் (விஷயத்தைக் குறிப்பிட வேண்டும்)

 எனக்கும், எனது தீனுக்கும், எனது வாழ்கைக்கும், எனது விவகாரத்தின் முடிவுக்கும்-

 நன்மையானது என நீ அறிந்தால் இதனை எனது விதியில் சேர்ப்பாயாக!

 மேலும் இதனை எனக்கு எளிமையாக்கித் தருவாயாக! பிறகு இதில் எனக்கு பாக்கியம் அருள்வாயாக!

ஆனால் இந்த விஷயம் எனக்கு, எனது தீனுக்கும் எனது வாழ்கைக்கும் எனது விவகாரத்திம் முடிவுக்கும் – 

 தீமையானது என நீ அறிந்தால் இதனை என்னை விட்டு அகற்றி விடுவாயாக!

மேலும் எனது விதியில் நன்மையை சேர்ப்பாயாக! அது எங்கிருந்தாலும் சரியே! பிறகு அதில் எனக்கு திருப்தி ஏற்படுத்தித் தருவாயாக!”

Yaa Allaaah! I’m asking You for goodness through Your [Infinite] Knowledge, and I’m asking You for strength through Your Divine Ability, and I’m asking You from Your Infinite Grace. Because You’re completely able to do, while I simply cannot. You know everything, and I do not, and You know everything that’s unseen.O Dear Allah!  if You know that this decision [mention decision here] is good for me in terms of my religiosity, my worldly life, and afterlife, then decree it, facilitate it for me with ease, and bless me through it. But if You know that this has bad consequences on my religiosity, my worldly life, and afterlife, then get it away from me and get me away from it, and [instead of that] decree what’s better for me, whatever it may be, and make me content with it.
